DAY 01. Shiraz
Arrival at Shiraz International Airport. Transfer and rest at the hotel. We will start the city tour of Shiraz at 10:00 a.m. by visiting the colorful Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, then Narenjestan. After that, we go to the old part of the city to visit the Vakil Complex, including the Vakil Mosque, bazaar, and public bath. We will eat lunch at a traditional restaurant in Bazar. In the afternoon, we will visit another side of Shiraz, where you will see the tombs of great poets Hafez and Sa’adi and the Shah Cheragh Shrine O/N Shiraz.
DAY 02. Shiraz / Persepolis / Pasargadae / Isfahan
Check out from your hotel, and we will head to the magnificent city of Persepolis (UNESCO) outside Shiraz- the first capital of the Achaemenid Empire (2,500 years ago) including the remains of the halls, palaces, and gardens- and then visit the necropolis of Achaemenid kings and a collection of Sassanid rock reliefs (Naqsh-e Rustam). Then, we drive to Pasargadae (UNESCO) to visit the tomb of Cyrus the Great. After visiting these ancient sites, we will drive to the beautiful city of Isfahan and check in your hotel. In the evening, we will head to the banks of the Zayanderud River, the soul of the town. Several historical bridges over this river were erected during the Safavid era (17th Century). Si-o-se-pol (33 arches) and Khajou bridges are the most famous ones. O/N Isfahan.
DAY 03. Isfahan
In the morning, we start our entire tour of Isfahan at the UNESCO world-date of Naghsh-e-Jahan Square. This site was the official center of the city when it was the Safavid Capital (17th Century). We will visit the famous Imam Mosque (Shah Mosque) on the square’s southern side with incredible architecture and tile-work. The multistory Aliqapu Palace on the western side of the court where the Safavid kings received guests and watched the polo games and ceremonies from its balconies. Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque which is located on the opposite side of the square is the next visit. The square is surrounded by one of the most amazing traditional roofed bazaars where you can enjoy watching Persian handicrafts and workshops and buy beautiful Iranian souvenirs, such as enamel works and Persian carpets. The last site we will visit today is Chehelsotoun Palace (UNESCO). O/N Isfahan.
DAY 04. Departure
In the morning, we will visit Vank Cathedral (Vank Church) built at the climax of Islamic architecture. Vank became the meeting place of the worlds of Biblical paintings and the lovely domes. You will be transferred to the airport in the evening for your departure flight home.
